Day 1

Arrival-Pick up | Bentota

On arrival in Sri Lanka you will be welcomed by our travel representative and will be leaving to Bentota to kick start the tour. Bentota is a coastal town in Sri Lanka about 62km south of Colombo. The city gains vast tourist attraction as the city is graced by amazing travel locations and a serene atmosphere. First, we will arrive at the Bentota Beach. you will be able to see for yourself how turtles are hatched at the Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery. It is a must visit project if you wish to look at the conservation of turtles. If the days are right you will be lucky enough to release a freshly hatched three-day old turtle into the ocean. End the day with dinner and an overnight stay at a hotel in Bentota.

Bentota
Day 2

Bentota

After breakfast you shall get the chance to travel in the Madu River. The Madu river is in Balapitiya in the Sothern Province of Sri Lanka which is very rich in biodiversity. It passes through the wet zone of Sri Lanka opening into the large Madu Lagoon before it releases to the Indian Ocean. Then you shall get a Fish Therapy in the Madu River. There are several artificial cage ponds in the natural river where fish named as “Doctor Fish” are grown. You can get into the floating stage from your boat and sit and put your legs in the pond and experience hundreds of fish gently nibble the dead skin of your legs. Next, we will be proceeding to the Brife Garden. It is located only 20 minutes away from the Aluthgama town, 10 km inland from Bentota. It is a legendary garden and the country home of Bevis Bawa. It has been opened to the public since 1970 with over 106 different kinds of trees recorded in this 20-acre property. Finally, you will be able to end the day by relaxing at the beach followed by dinner and rest at the hotel.

Galle
Day 3

Galle

After breakfast we shall proceed to the Galle Fort. It is a UNESCO world heritage site which is also known as the Dutch fort built in the late 16th century. It is one of the most important archeological, architectural and historical monuments to illustrate the European influence during the Dutch era. Then you shall be able to explore the National Museum. It is located in the oldest remaining Dutch building in the Galle Fort built in 1656. It houses a limited collection of exhibits from the Portuguese, Dutch and British periods. In the latter part of the day we will visit the Midigama Beach. It is a surf beach with a strip of surf shops, modest loadings and restaurants looking out to the waves. The waves are perfect for beginners but further out there are bigger waves for more advanced surfers. End the day with dinner and lounge at a comfortable hotel.

Yala
Day 4

Yala

After breakfast we shall proceed towards Yala National Park to spend the evening at the Yala Wildlife Safari. Yala National Park is in the south-eastern region of Sri Lanka. The entrance to the park is at Palatupana, 12 km from Kirinda and 305 km from Colombo. It is the most visited and the second largest park in Sri Lanka that spreads over an area of 1260 square kilometers. It is consisted of 5 blocks where only the 4th block is open for visitors and others are strictly designated Natural Reserves. The Yala Safari gives the best opportunity to whiteness Sri Lankas’s broad variety of wildlife, a total of 32 species of mammals including threatened species such as the sloth bear, leopard, elephants, the water buffalo, wild boars, spotted deer, sambar and the golden jackal. You will get the chance to see these animals loitering around in their natural habitats. You will then have a time to relax at the hotel near the site followed by dinner.

Ella
Day 5

Ella

After breakfast we shall proceed to Ella to visit the Nine Arches Bridge. Ella is a small town in the Badulla District, 120 miles east of Colombo situated at an elevation of 3415ft above the sea level. It is famous for its rich bio diversity, flora and fauna, cloud forests, tree plantations and the cool climate because of its elevation. The Nine Arches Bridge is situated between the Demodara and Ella Railway stations built entirely out of brick, rock and cement without a single piece of steel. It is standing solid from 1921 built at 3100m above sea level. Next we shall visit the Ella Rock which is a popular hiking spot offering dramatic views from the mountain’s peak. It is a well renowned place to watch the sunrise.

Nuwara Eliya
Day 6

Nuwara Eliya

After breakfast we shall proceed to Nuwara Eliya often referred to as Little England with a genteel highland community having a vaguely British country village feel to it with its colonial era bungalows, Tudor style hotels, well-tended hedgerows and breathtaking gardens. It is the most important location for tea production in Sri Lanka. It is the coolest area of Sri Lanka making it an ideal travel escape for both local and foreign tourists. First, we shall visit the Ravana Falls ranked as one of the widest falls in the country with a total height of 25m and a 3445ft elevation where water cascades from an oval shaped concave rock outcrop. Next, we will explore the Hakgala flower gardens, one of the five botanical gardens in Sri Lanka which amounts to be the second largest garden in Sri Lanka. It is situated on the Nuwara Eliya- Badulla main road 16km from Nuwara Eliya. Finally, we will make a city tour visiting sites such as lake Gregory and Lover Leap Waterfalls. Winding up for the day you shall have dinner and lounge at a hotel in the city.

Kandy
Day 7

Kandy

After breakfast we shall proceed to Kandy the last Sri Lankan kingdom which is the home to many of the island’s cultural gems. Even after its conquest by the British in 1815, Kandy has preserved its function as the religious capital of the Sinhalese and a place of pilgrimage for Buddhists namely those belonging to the Theravada School. First, we shall pay a visit to the most holy Temple of the Tooth Relic. It is one of the most famous Buddhist temples in the world which was built to protect the scared tooth relic belonging to Lord Buddha, enshrined in Sri Lanka for more than 100 years. Then we shall visit the Peradeniya botanical gardens in Peradeniya about 5.5km to west of the Kandy city with an attraction of more than 2 million visitors annually. It spreads across 147 acres homing a large variety of plants. After the cultural dance show featuring the central province “Udarata Traditional Dance” technique we will make a Kandy city tour followed by dinner and an overnight stay in a hotel in the city.

Sigirya
Day 8

Sigirya

After breakfast we shall proceed to Sigiriya. On the way we shall first visit the Dambulla Cave Temples. It is about 26 miles to the south on the Kandy Dambulla road homing beautiful frescoes, 4 caves and more than 150 Buddha Statues. Its rock temples are the most extensive in the island and one of the most ancient and in the highest state of preservation and order. Then you will be able to explore the Sigiriya fortress. It is an ancient rock fortress built by king Kashyapa in the 5th century which is located in the central province near the town of Dambulla. It is decorated with colorful frescoes, a lion gateway and the infamous mirror wall. Sigiriya is a UNESCO listed world heritage site and is one of the best-preserved examples of ancient urban planning.Dinner will be served at the hotel where you will be able to spend the night.

Day 9

Sigiriya

Following breakfast, you shall visit the Minneriya Wild Safari. Minnerya wild safari will be carried out in the Minneriya National Park where you can experience “The Gathering” a name given to the elephants that assemble on the banks of the Minneriya Reservoir. It us the world’s largest group of wild elephants gathering. You can view the native elephants at their natural habitat grazing on the grass, playing and bathing. You will be able to spot deer, wild buffalos, pink faced leaf monkeys, eagles, owls, peacocks and several types of birds. Then you can experience the Sigiriya Village Safari. An experience in the Sri Lankan rural life spending time with the villages to understand their lifestyles. The tour will be spiced up with oxen cart rides, a catamaran ride and a walk through the fields. Mark the end of the day with dinner and an overnight stay at the Palwehera Village.

Colombo
Day 10

Colombo

After breakfast we shall proceed to Colombo where we will have a city tour visiting the many famous locations such as the Gangarama Temple established in 1885 by venerable Hikkaduwe Sri Sumangala Nayaka Thera which is the most visited temple in the city which is situated in the swamp beside the Beira Lake, the Independent Square, The Old Parliament, Gall Face Green and do a bit of shopping to complete the day. Colombo is Sri Lanka’s commercial hub located in the west costs with a population between 800000 and 1 million. The city is a mix of old and new with a central cluster of high rise office blocks and hotels overshadowing red tiled colonial era buildings and sprawling street markets. A much attractive travel destination where there are many locations to visit. You shall receive dinner and an overnight stay at a recognized hotel in Colombo before the departure.
